To extend the benefits of this scheme to one crore citizens, the Government of India has set a budget of Rs 75000 crore. The citizens who will be provided the benefit of this scheme will have to install solar panels on the roof of their house.

- If a solar panel of 1 kilowatt capacity is installed, then a subsidy of up to ₹ 30000 will be given in such a situation, whereas a subsidy of up to ₹ 60000 will be given on a 2 kilowatt solar panel and a subsidy of up to ₹ 78000 will be given on installing a solar panel of 3 kilowatt or more.

- Only Indian citizens can apply for this scheme.
- To complete the application process, there must be enough space on the roof of the citizen’s house where the solar panel can be installed.
- In the required document, the citizen must have his/her own Aadhar card.

- To apply, first of all the citizen has to open the official website.
- Now the registration process has to be completed on the official website by clicking on the option related to registration.
- Now login by entering the consumer number and mobile number.
- Now open the application form to apply and enter all the required information. And submit the form.
- Now in a few days the discom approval will be received. After getting this approval, the registered vendor has to get the solar panel installed.
- Now the information related to the plant has to be entered correctly on the website and the process of application for net meter has to be completed.
- Now the net meter has to be installed and after the discom inspection, the commissioning certificate will be issued to you on the official portal which has to be checked once.
- Now submit your bank account details and cancelled cheque on the portal.
- Now further the information will be verified by the officials and after completing the necessary work the subsidy will be transferred to the bank account within 30 days.
