Gujrat Police Portal for online FIR registration

Making the process of registering complaints in the state hassle-free, Gujarat Police is all set to launch an online portal for FIR registration by citizens. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be visiting the state on July 23 to inaugurate the Gujarat Police portal.
From now on, people will only be able to register online FIRs in case of mobile or vehicle thefts.

Senior police officers said that the training process of the state police force in dealing with such online FIRs and providing the FIR number and the progress of the investigation has been wrapped up.

Until now citizens were allowed to file an application online, however now they will also be able to lodge an online FIR in incidents of mobile and vehicle thefts.
