SSC CGL 2024 Important Dates and Vacancy Details
Notification Release Date:
The SSC CGL 2024 Notification will be released on June 11th, 2024. This is when all the information about the exam will be made available.
Registration Dates:
If you’re eligible and want to apply for the SSC CGL 2024 Exam, you can submit your application online from June 11th to July 10th, 2024.
Last Date for Application Fee:
Make sure to pay your application fee by July 10th, 2024, before 11 pm. This is important to complete your application process.
Vacancy Details:
Last year, there were 8,415 vacancies for Group B and C posts. Before that, in 2022, there were 37,409 vacancies, the highest in the last 7 years. You can see the year-wise vacancy comparison from 2017 to 2024 in the table below.
SSC CGL Result and Cut-Off Marks
Result Release:
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) releases results for each stage of the SSC CGL exam on their official website www.ssc.gov.in.
Selection Process:
This year, there will be a two-tier selection process. The Tier 1 exam is qualifying in nature, meaning you must pass it to move to the next stage.
Tier 1 Result:
SSC CGL Tier 1 Result will be announced on the website. It will show the names and roll numbers of candidates who qualify to appear for the Tier 2 Exam.
Final Result:
The final result will be based on the marks scored by candidates in the SSC CGL 2024 Tier 2 Exam only. This means your performance in Tier 2 determines your final selection.
Cut-Off Marks:
Cut-off marks are the minimum scores required to qualify for each category and post. Below are the cut-off marks for various categories and posts:
General Category:
- Finance/AAO: 169.67
- JSO: 168.54
- Statistical Investigator Gr.II: 172.36
- All Other Posts: 150.05.
EWS Category:
- Finance/AAO: 167.18
- JSO: 166.07
- Statistical Investigator Gr.II: 158.77
- All Other Posts: 143.44.
OBC Category:
- Finance/AAO: 166.29
- JSO: 165.87
- Statistical Investigator Gr.II: 152.42
- All Other Posts: 145.94.
SC Category:
- Finance/AAO: 154.29

SSC CGL 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Education Qualification:
Different posts have different educational requirements:
- For Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject plus CA/CS/MBA/Cost & Management Accountant/Masters in Commerce/Masters in Business Studies.
- For Junior Statistical Officer (JSO): Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 60% in Mathematics in Class 12th or with Statistics as one of the subjects in graduation.
- For Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Graduation Degree with Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics as a compulsory or elective subject.
- For Research Assistant in NHRC: Bachelor’s Degree with at least one year of research experience.
- For Other Posts: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject.
Age Limit:
- The age limit is between 18 to 32 years depending on the post. Here are the age groups for different posts:
- Auditor, Accountant, Senior Secretariat Assistant, Tax Assistant, Sub-Inspector, Upper Division Clerk: 18-27 years
- Assistant, Inspector Posts: 18-30 years
- Assistant Section Officer: 20-30 years
- Assistant Audit Officer, Divisional Accountant, Assistant Enforcement Officer: Up to 30 years
- Junior Statistical Officer: Up to 32 years
Nationality:
Candidates must be citizens or subjects of India, Nepal, Bhutan, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from specific countries to settle permanently in India. These countries include Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam.
